Insured warranty price increase (07 plate)

Got my letter through today and my policy price has gone up from 470 odd to 537 for comprehensive with no excess...

I always paid yearly as I was under 60k miles - I'm currently only on 48k and did less than 5k in last 12 months with zero visits to the dealer so bit perplexed at the rise.

I'll end up going with it again but wondered if I should now pay monthly (50/month!) to avoid a similar shock but that adds even more! Anyone ever managed to knock a few quid off with a call or should I just suck it up?

If this is the BMW Insured warranty, then no, they will not reduce the price.

It's always best to pay monthly, because you are then "locked" in the monthly price so therefore, will not experience any price increases, (even when you go over 60k, where the annual price normally doubles).

Hi Raj, that was the plan for when I got close to 60k but the common consensus at the time was pay yearly until that point which it would appear was not wise!

Took mine out last month on a monthly payment option.

£100 excess and £42 a month fully comp with breakdown. I was on 58k on renewal so now have a fixed monthly payment for as long as I keep the car.

A good deal I think

The £100 excess deal wasn't too bad - £32 a month I think and based on the number of visits I have made in 2 years - one - it remains an option

If you can, change to monthly. As already mentioned the price won't increase.

At the moment I plan to keep as yearly - this is my logic...

Yearly cost is £537 a £60/70 increase on last year or £50/month (£600/yr) and I will not break 60k miles

I don't believe there are many rises year on year so will chance it not rising again come next renewal and if it does, I imagine it will be by a similar amount so won't be any worse off than I would have been paying monthly...

That's the thinking anyway and I reserve the right to change my mind the other way 42 times before the actual renewal in July

Cool interesting to know, I thought otherwise due to a previous thread on the forum.

In which case, going monthly might be a good idea
