Couple of warranty questions

Hi Guys

So I took out warranty with Warranty Direct a while back. I remember they wanted to know when the last service was carried out, which was in January.

However, it was just a routine service and the things that were highlighted on the iDrive were changed, such as engine oil, micro-filter and brake fluid. No other work was carried out as it was unnecessary.

My question is, if i wanted to make a claim, would the warranty company be able to use this as a way to get out of paying up? Like saying, that I needed to have had brakes, plugs, vehicle check, air cleaner and fuel filter changed as well?

Also, I've only ever had services done from local independents, albeit BMW specialists. I know it's going to sound unlikely, but could the warranty company be able to get away without paying up because the service was not done by a BMW dealership?

Just pray you never need to make a serious claim with them as they WILL NOT payout the full amount.

Id personally drop them ASAP and go with BMWs proper warranty!

I think you may be ok but may encounter some problems if you have a major claim! As they may try to wiggle out of it.
If I'm not mistaken once your out of the loop with bmw warranty there's no getting back in.

Slightly off topic but i heard if you have third party insurance, BMW will repair under warranty covered faults on modded cars, ie a remap. Not sure if this is true?

Yeah basically I think BMW won't mention the mods as it's in there interest to get paid. Also this may also depend on the dealer
