MSRP $46,550, sold at $43,990....5.5% discount....not the highest discount vs more competitive national markets, but comfortable. Dealer with Costco program was $300 higher....not a big deal, but no real advantage to Costco program. Dealers are trading to get allocations!

What was your plan of attack with the dealer? Did you build it online? I always thought the costco cost would be the lowest they could offer. Did they have any on the lot? Ordered specially for you?

What'd you do to get the 5.5 off?

Thanks! I started by approaching my local dealer, who flatly rejected a 6% discount. So, from there, I looked at three other dealers in our greater metropolitan area to get a general sense of the market, including one affiliated with the Costco program. Two dealers (one the Costco one) gave similar prices of almost 5% off, one offered a minimal discount. I printed out a spreadsheet with all three as Non-Negotiated First Offers on the same page as the build specs I assembled from the 2015 Order and Price Guides. I went to the original close-by dealer in person (earlier correspondence was all email) and gave him the page, and told him what it would take for me to sign today, based on knowing the general market trend. He went just under it and we signed at a 5.5% discount, so he got to stay true to not doing 6%!!. This area is not as competitive as the coasts and allocations are fewer...I saw the BMWNA allocation page. This dealer is getting 8 228i cars for this calendar year. But, he's getting almost 90 3 Series X Drive.

What really solidified the deal was that he had an allocation for Week 28 while the others were either week 32 or was going to have to dealer trade for one. I took the bird in the hand.

Sorry I was not clear. They are not online. The dealer showed me the sheet.
