Two Bluetooth Phones? What happens?

I've ordered the phone cradle and bluetooth in our 330i (USA model). We have two Motorola phones. One is bluetooth, I'm thinking of exchanging the non-bluetooth phone for a second blutooth. Does anyone know what will happen if both phones are in the car, maybe with one in the cradle, maybe not.

If the answer is that only one phone will work at a time, (sounds like a good guess ), then is it possible to switch from one phone to the other on the fly? How?

I don't know what happens in this situation actually. I know that you can pair multiple phones to work with the system such as yours and your significant other's. Then if either were driving then the phone would automatically get picked up no matter which one.

Both in the car simultaneously however? I don't know. I am curious Can anybody who already has their car try it? I imagine the first phone to "respond" or be in range might get chosen.

And in that case, it would be simple to switch to the other phone by turning the bluetooth on the first phone off. There might be a more elegant way as well but that should work.

I read on this forum or bimmerfest that the last phone (of all the paired phones) to enter the car is the one it pairs with. Could be possible, but I cannot offer anything else to substantiate this.

with the i-drive, u can move the phone up or "move device up" as it shows on the i-drive screen, and the uppermost phone is connected first, but only one phone can be connected at a time. the i-drive version allows for up to 4 phones

Partially correct...

If you have multiple phones paired the last phone *that was paired* with the car will be the one that will sync if the other paired phones are in the car... Exactly the same as the E46

The difference in the E90 is that you can modify the priority level of individual phones.

Thank you all for your replies. Looks like it will work fine, so I'll get the second 'tooth!

And welcome to the forum, Paul, from a fellow Australian! (Expatriated.)

I doubt that there would be any complications since my Motorola V80 requires you to manually link everytime you want to connect to a headset. (im guessing that most motorola bluetooth links are the same)

Testing on my E90
I-drive allow up to 4 phone, but only the phone on the top of the list will work, once it is connected to 1st phone, if the 2nd phone have a incoming calls, nothing will happen.

I have 2 phones. Is it possible for me to use both of them via the bluetooth system at the same time.
In the sense that I could get a call on either at any time and as I understand only the one in the cradle will be picked up ?
so what happens to my second phone,do I have to use it normally?
Thanks in advance
