Advice on Tyres and Stance…
Guys,
Firstly, sorry for a bit of a long thread but need some advice please… I've asked a couple of you on this but just opening to the wider public.. I’ve been offered a pair of Avon ZZ3 tyres in 225/35/19 with 6mm tread for £60. I’ve read some independent reviews and most seem fairly decent but what are peoples view? I’m only considering these as it provides a good cheap alternative use for either my rials or style 95s. What do you think about their performance, can anyone speak from experience? I’m due to take off my Rial (Orange) Wheels until the next show season in August, primarily to preserve them. Some of you may know I’ve recently acquired a set of Style 95 wheels which I will use during off peak season (i.e. in between car shows and winter months). Now then… I have just bought two new Vredestein Sessanta in 225/35/19 (for a knock off price!) which I plan to put on the 9j (et24) fronts of the Style 95s. For the rears of the Style 95s (10j et24), I will use my Falken 245/35/19 from the Rials… these will form the basis of my off peak set of wheels. I know ideally I should have got Winter tyres but to be honest, if it snows that much, I won’t even be driving my car so I think I’m happy to stick with them. My issues is trying to work out how I can get the best stance / tyre set up for my summer / Rial set up as I’m currently not happy with the 215/35/19 up front on the 8.5J. I want a thicker tyre with more meat and space out the car a bit more… Currently running 8.5J et40+ 12mm spacers with 215/35/19 / 10J et 27 (no spacers) with 245/35/19. I want a good mix of stretch and meat and wonder if I can achieve this with the following: F: 225/35/19 + 18mm spacers R: 245/30/19 + 5-8mm spacers? What can you tyre / stance heads recommend… the look I am trying to achieve is something like courtesy of Paul over at Cutters.………………………. (and appreciate M3 have wider arches etc but something like this would be great for the Rial Daytona (Summer Wheels) Cheers. |

Show Season is on hold until August? Hope they've told all the shows coming up!
Seems like madness to only have wheels for shows. I don't have any actual help only that comment. |

It's on hold for me personally as I'm unable to attend ones in July due to personal commitments.
Infact only reason I'm swopping wheels atm is Im doing a journey up north and back and would rather preserve these polished lips from getting damaged for any reason. Also, when you pay to have split wheels refurbed and polished, it makes sense to utilise a 'winter' set of wheels for longer journeys and what not. Can see why some may say it's daft but Im probably a bit OCD when it comes to the whip |

with your current height you should be able to run et20 at front without any problems , 225's on 8.5 will give you very minimal stretch .
in the rear i would try 245/30's et15 . |

I know jack about car set up and stuff TBH, but do you think there is a danger that setting up your car like that might make it look like it's all about the wheels - bearing in mind they are so striking in the orange.
I wonder if it will draw all the attention to them rather than focus on the complete package - which your car is.. As I say just my thoughts - I like the way your car is... Close it up and it looks great, open it up and it has bursts of colour and interest.... |

isn't it just... I'm now thinking of putting the 225/35/19 bred sessantas on the front of my summer wheels and get some new vreds for the rear in 245/30/19 (if they make them in that spec). And for style 95s, for some Vred wintracs or decent quality winter tyres that perform well in both snow and dry weather.... What do you guys think? |

that sounds about right to me... best thing is to try on spacers and see what you can do!
