255/30-19 tire on 10" wide wheel?

I know most people run 265 or 275 tires on a 10" wide wheel but I was wondering if anyone has successfully run a 255 tire?

The reason I am asking is that I am seriously considering the ContiSportContact 3, but it is only available in 255/30 or 275/30.

I have an e92 lowered on H&R sports and I will have iForged wheels, so I don't know the offset. I am afraid I will rub with 275 and I don't want to roll my fenders if possible.

I know a lot of people would recommend PS2 in 265/30 but I was told that is an oversize tire and I will probably rub so I would have to roll the fenders anyway.

Any advice is much appreciated - thanks

Dan recommends a 265 with a 19" wheel

Im very familiar with this issue. there usually are 3 major brands that come oversized in 19, which is michelin, goodyear and bfgoodrich. anything else you should run a 265 tire width in the rear.

if you want to run the other brands that I listed, you should probably do the 255

I think you should consider a 255/35-19, and that will be fine on a 10 inch rim. Any 255 will work on a 10 inch rim, but you are right at the limit. Why not just go with a 265?

I streched 235 General Exclaims on a 9.5" rim. Looked great, but didn't offer too much protection.

if the PS2 was offered in 255 I would, but unfortunately it is not

I want to go with 265 but the PS2 is oversized and will probably rub

Is it the concensus that 275/30 is too wide and will rub?

Looks like I just have to find different tires or hope that the CSC3 will be offered in 265 by the time I have to buy tires.

265 oversized shouldnt rub. I have 20* 10 iforged and run a 285, lowered on coils and barely ever rub.

By the way the iforged offsets are 34 front and 38 rear

good to know - so the 38et rear offset is consistent among all iForged 10" wheels?

I can save $300 doing the CSC3 vs. the PS2 so I might end up biting the bullet and doing 275. I was told 265 oversized is essentially a 275 tire so we'll see what happens.

thanks

Did you get your inspection sheet with the wheels? They usually have the offset written on them

Don't have the wheels yet, I just ordered them last week. I'll check the inspection sheet when I receive them

I'm running 265/30/19 on a 10.5 rim. It's very stretched but it looks good. The only thing you have to worry about is when you wheel is getting too close to the curb

after seeing pictures of how stretched a typical 265 tire looks on a 10" wheel I am going to do either an oversized 265 (i.e. PS2) or take my chances on a 275 (i.e.CSC3) and get my fenders rolled.

The wheel above is 10.5 but I think you get the picture. I personally dont like that look, it just looks like the wheels dont fit in my opinion.

Here is a picture of a 285 on a 10" Iforged wheel.
