Need some help! Upgraded Subs, No front door sound now.

I upgraded the Basic Subwoofers in my car to HK Logic 7 Subs. I was able to get them out of a totaled 335xi. I have the basic sounds system, so no amp to being with. Now my front door speakers have no sound. I'm thinking I need a bit more power for the front door speakers now because these subs are more powerful.

So without sounding stupid (although I may already), what amp would you suggest? I have (4) Kicker CS4 4" speakers and now (2) Logic 7 subwoofers.

Suggestions?

The Stereo OEM woofers in your car had 4 pins in its connector -the purpose of those 4 pins was to connect the front speakers in parallel right there. You should have seen 4 wires coming into the each OEM woofer before replacing them.

The HK OEM woofers have 2 pins for connection. The parallel connection is broken, thus no front speaker sound.

You will need to join pin 1 to 2, and 3 to 4 at the car OEM woofer connector (4 wires) then you will have sound to the front speakers.

The pin numbers are molded in the OEM connector.

If your car has the Professional radio then be aware that you will have a 2 ohms load in the front channels now. The radio is not stable at 2ohms.

This is not applicable to the Nav. Nav is stable at 2ohms.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "the radio is not stable" The car doesn't have nav but the radio was coded to HiFi.

Stable means that it is not designed to have loads of less than 4ohms.

If you have an aftermarket amp then there is nothing to worry about.

Joining the wires means literally joining one with the other.

Thank you. So I guess to be safe, I will have to buy an aftermarket amp.

Well, the only reason of coding to HiFi is to use a balanced-inputs aftermarket amp, not to drive speakers directly with low level inputs.

I think that you need to read the sticky on the top of the forum.
