Tuning Options for 328i Coupe
Hey everyone!
I'm new to the board hoping to learn and answer questions bout one of the greatests lines of autobile ever ::arguably:: If I've done my homework correctly the 328i Coupe shares it's N52 3.0 Liter engine with the 2007 X3 3.0si, where the 328i Coupe has 230 HP w/200 ft/lbs of torque compared to the X3, which has 260 HP w/225 ft/lbs of torque. Surely the power difference lies in the 3-Stage-Intake Manifold available on the X3 with "better" ECU mapping. Understandably so, if the 328i Coupe did have the X3's powertrain spec. no one would buy the 335i Coupe. However, I'm willing to go all out for a little of the Naturally aspirated horsepower BMW is known for. Does anyone know if fitting the 07' X3 Intake Manifold to the 328i Coupes N52 engine would work out? Or whether there are any major tuning kits for the 328i Coupe in development? 335i Tuning options are ubiquitous, but I'm having a bit of trouble trying to tune my 328i Coupe. |

Or the 3-Stage-Intake Manifold, etc. from the '06 330i?

IIRC someone tried doing something like this to their e90 325 (using the intake manifold from an e90 330). It didn't work. Big thread on it from back in the day.

I am looking at the Turner Motorsports kit for the 325i that uses the 330i parts and tuning. might ask them if it works for the 328i too.

Unfortunately, I don't think its very easy to tune the 328--I had similar aspirations when I got my E92 in Feb. You won't find a lot on tuning the N52....

Harsh reality...but believable since E90/92 sales aren't exactly on par with the E46 sales, yet. Supposedly the N52 has a lot of potential, so it's hard to believe that the aftermarket won't respond. Hopefully, Steve Dinan's got something cookin, he's already got a Ram-Air Intake and Exhaust System out for the 328.

I don't see a big performance market for the 325/328/330. The performance really lies within the 335.
