Quick question - 265 or 275 on 9.5J?
^this^
They will be on shiny new 19" Quantum S1s. I'm a bit worried about kerbing them, and thought the wider tyre might offer a bit more protection. Price for my chosen tyres (Goodyear Asym 2) is pretty much identical either way. Or will the extra 10mmm make no difference at all? |

If you can go wider with no rubbing etc then why not in my eyes unless you have a 320 or something with not allot of power.
I ran 285 on my previous 335i. It stopped the car from spinning randomly and also getting tail happy if I didnt want it to. No rubbing at all but i did have rolled rear arches |

265/30 does the job for me, anything wider will rub if you lowered

Greetings.
I have 19" Quantum S1 on a 335d E90 and running Falken-453 265/30/ on the rear . No rolled arches either and with Birds B3 suspension all works fine with no rubbing. I was thinking about 275 but decided I definitely wanted no rubbing. I may add a 5mm spacer in the future but I will see how I go. I too was worried about kerbing these wheels but they don't pertrude as much as you think. The same with any new wheels just take a little extra care when parking. |

the specs of the wheels are:
Front - 19x8.5 ET38 Rear - 19x9.5 ET40 275 may rub with some brands such a michelins if you are lowered... only way to find out is put some tyres on and sell them if they dont work out lol... if it's really important to you, just go to your local tyre shop and ask to have one of their completely worn out 275s and try them on... that's what i did and found out i couldnt fit 275s (my rim specs are different to yours)... hope i helped... ps. if you try 265s and find out you can fit 275s, sell the 265s to me

Thanks all
Car is E91 pre-LCI 325i SE and I don't drive hard - its tail has never been happy, even on the 245 RFTs! No plans to lower or fit spacers, so I guess I should have no rubbing problems with 275? |
