17-inch wheels too small for M235i ?

The brakes are huge on M235i. Will smaller 17inch wheels clear the calipers ? Does anybody have a definite answer ?

The BMW M Performance brakes are the same size as the ones on that come standard on the M235i, correct?

If so, this may be relevant.

On the website for the BMW M Performance brakes it says:

"The BMW M Performance Sports Brake System is only approved in combination with at least 18" aluminum wheels."

http://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/44...E-BRAKE-SYSTEM

So, I would also be skeptical about getting 17" wheels to fit on a M235i.

Ouch! Looks like we'll have to pay through the nose for winter wheels/tires.

Yep. I've already priced a couple of sets (looking at Blizzak LM-32 225/40-18, with rims and TPMS) and it's looking close to 2k! Hoping there will be some better packages in the October time frame to at least get it down to 1.5K

Tire Rack does not recommend anything that they have not actually put on the car and ensured that they fit safely. When the Pontiac G8 came out one of the guys on the G8 forum that got his car early on was asked by Tire Rack to make it available to them for a couple of days so they could do the measurements and test fitting. His posts detailed the process which was pretty comprehensive. I wonder if Tire Rack has test fitted both the 228 and the M235i? I would go with what BMW says over anyone else.

Has anyone tried any of the 128/135 wheels, either 17 or 18", on the 228i?
