iPod doesn't turn off with car

E92 with iPod connecter in the glove box. IPod stays on all the time when plugged in, including when the car is off. I'm sure this is terrible for my battery. Anyone else with the same problem or known solutions?

Are you sure it's charging off your car battery when it's off, or is it just the screen doesn't go to sleep?
