Recommended coilovers or springs?

Looking into adding a new set of coils or springs. I'm stuck in between the two, unfortunately . My budget would be less than $1,200. What are your thoughts?

Cheers,
Nick

Depends on your needs / wants? For the price of a spring shock matched set you can get an entry level coilover kit for a few bucks more. Like ST or KW V1s for example. If i were to do it all over again it would be coils but thats only because I need some adjustability to fit my ET20 19 x 9.5" wheels.

^^ what are your priorities? Lowering? Less body roll? Adjustable damping? Ride Quality? Quality and warranty?

I'm looking for a good ride quality & not something that would be bouncy. I've been in countless cars that end up being like a damn lowrider. Also something with less body roll would be great. Warranty isn't an issue.

Look at ST coilovers by KW if road salt causing rust isn't a concern.

Koni FSD, designed for stock springs, pretty good and in budget. Assuming you've sport option springs, much better ride.

How much did you pay for the ST coils?

If you look hard enough you can find Koni Yellows and Eibach Pro springs combo for less than $720 since Koni is running a sale until end of the month.

My vote is for ST's as well. I thought I was upgrading when I switched to Olhins. I feel they are no better, maybe a little worse at three times the price.

think you'll find ST's for mid-low 700s after rebate

Now there's an interesting statement. How so? I appreciate that feedback as I don't think many people would say that.

Another vote for the ST coilovers. They definitely make a good difference and with the $100 rebate they're a great deal.

I did the same with the B12 kit. It is a far better ride than ST or KW v1's, a lot more durable and the drop is spot on unless you want that slammed look.

Seriously?
The spring rates for Olhins are 343 front and 400 rear. They are too soft. Some guys upgrade with swift but they have had issues. When I spoke to Olhins they said the struts would need to be revalved if I increased the spring rate much. The ST's seemed just right for me. The first time I backed out of the driveway I almost cracked my m3 bumper even though I was nearly 1.5 inches higher than my ST's. (I never hit with my ST's) And the olhins rears make noise because my kit only came with one set of rubber spring perches. I did call them and complained so they have since sent me a new set.

What rebound settings do you run?

Basically halfway on both. I'm going to talk to Harold to see if he will warranty if we run swift and run into problems.
