tyre temperature indicator
Hi,
I don't see that this was discussed yet, but I have noticed that the new M3 not only has the tyre pressure indicator, but also a tyre temperature indicator. How do these actually work? Are there sensors embedded in the rims and how is the data transmitted? wireless or by wire? Not really important, but maybe someone knows. Thanks |

Pretty sure its the sensor in the valve and its transmitted via wireless. Standard since maybe late March on all UK spec cars but I suspect globally now too?
Happy to have it, I'll keep my tyres nearer required spec pressure much more often I think with it.

not sure if anyone else noticed, but at least in the German configurator the tire temperature indicator seems to have disappeared. The option showing tire pressure used to show the picture of the display showing both pressure and temperature. they seem to have corrected it to only show pressure now. so after all it seems no tire temperature is being displayed.
