Dealer Pricing

For those who have bought the M235i, did you see any discount off MSRP?

To be fair, that thread is mostly talking about leases and MFs than actual purchase prices. You'd think financing should get its own thread

The answer depends on the area you are in. In Seattle area the dealers have no stock of M235i so a discount is very difficult. Other areas of the country dealers have stock and a discount can be had.

On the other hand 228i are plentiful and can be purchased at a good discount.

Not to be disrespectful, but this shows your ignorance in the art of negotiating a good price on a car. Negotiated price should not be impacted by form of financing.

Either way, I disagree that starting a new thread for traditional loans is a good idea. It'll be confusing.

Agreed. There is no difference between leasing and buying and as far as I am concerned the dealer never knows which I am doing until it's time to do the paperwork once the numbers are done.

My mistake, sorry I'm new here, and to forums in general.

Since we're here... My sticker was $52,300, got her for $49,500...
Just trying to see how well I did.

Right just noticed your location. I think military pricing is available for overseas sales. Seems like you got a pretty good deal.

You got a much better deal than anyone in my area. Congratulations.

Yes. But I bought via diplomat sales, plus BMW gave me an additional ~$2,700 credit. That brought the package to $40,416, or a bit more that $6,000 off of MSRP.

No disrespect taken! I totally agree with you that negotiated price and form of financing (specifically leases) are totally different things. I just wish the "deals" thread, because it's so big, would focus on final negotiated price, which is something everyone has in common. Though I can see how some people can be easily confused if you separate the different things out.

You're right. A better way would be to list out Model, City, State, Dealer, MSRP, Negotiated Price, Incentives and then a break down of the agreement, interest, tax, monthly, acquisition, doc fee, whatever. At least then people could search and find deals attained in their general vicinity.

I completely agree. The official thread is very helpful, but a bit diluted now. It's time consuming sifting through the quote activity for final pricing/terms.
