Vehicle color option is a nice touch. Where is the "How To" for removing the covers from the car?

Below is a DIY for the BMW Performance Mirror Covers courtesy GT Motoring.

The one difference is that the factory non-carbon fiber cover does not require the screws. The factory mirror cover is held in place by 3 tabs.

So, the stock caps can simply be pulled off without removing the mirror and breaking the tabs as shown in the post above? And the painted replacements will simply snap back in?

Yes they just pull off and the new ones snap right on, at least that's what I was told by a number of people who have done them already. Mine isn't here yet, I can check with dealer once they are installed there.

Picked the car up last night, fitted the IND mirror covers (1 minute per side) and IND painted reflectors (5 minutes per side). Great fit and finish, perfect color match. Debadged the fenders as well. Love the look, waiting on silver turn signal bulbs to replace the orange and then I'll be all set. Will post some better pics when it clears up and there's some decent light. Highly recommend the IND stuff looks awesome.

You could use a heat gun but I did not. I used dental floss, they are on there with foam tape. The floss cuts through the foam part, leaving some on badge and some on car. I picked off what I could then just saturated with goo gone, took the dog for a walk, then picked and rubbed with a microfiber towel and plenty of goo gone to keep it lubricated. Do not do it dry and don't use too much pressure, just patience and small circular motion with plenty of goo gone. When the weather clears tomorrow and I wash it I will put an extra coat or two of wax on those areas. Did the back too just now, will post pics of the whole thing tomorrow once clean and I have some decent light.

How tough can I be when pulling the mirror cap off? I just don't want to break/snap anything in the process. Anyone recommend a specific corner to start from?

Any what do you recommend to begin prying the cap off with??? My fingers hurt...

For anyone who has these same two questions I just took an old gift/credit card to the outermost bottom corner of either side and worked it across the bottom and then across the top. Used the credit card to do most of the pressure pulling since it kept a nice even pull. Probably the worst sounds ever of pulling them out and hearing the tabs pop out, but everything went smoothly and nothing broke!

To remove the OEM mirror caps simply get a micro fiber towel, and grab the outside bottom lip (away from the car) of the cover and wiggle it outwards and you will hear it pop. Then work the top and bottom incrementally until all clips are freed.
