Why does the radio stay on when you turn off the car?

I just picked up the car last night and i hate how when i turn off the car the radio stays on... i know it turns off once you lock the doors but its going to take some getting use to cause i always feel like im forgetting to turn something off....

any way to turn this option off??

if you have CA (i do) press the start/stop button a 2nd time and it will completely shutdown the car(radio too). if you don't have CA, removing the key should power down the car (radio too).

Hold down the button until everything goes off. I think for about 5 seconds will do.

This makes it sound like a crashed windows computer that refuses to shutdown.
