Heated Blind Spot Mirrors = WIN!!

My left side view mirror needed replacing (something was going on with the coating, and it was turning brown around the edges, getting worse as time went on), so I decided to replace both mirrors with a set of "M3 European Heated Blind Spot Mirrors", that I bought from ECSTuning.

All I can say is WOW! What a difference! I've always adjusted my mirrors to eliminate blind spots, but I found that doing so would limit the distance I could see in them. With these new mirrors, I have them adjusted so that I can see the side of my car, and that gives me the view of the entire lane on either side, meanwhile, the mirror itself eliminates the blind spot. It's as though I doubled the size of the mirror. I highly recommend this upgrade.

Cheers!

My mom's old Saab had one of these stock; it was pretty neat once you got used to it. Neat!

As someone who just bought an e92, I have been feeling like my mirrors are a little on the small side (previous car was a Evo X with shrek-sized ears). I like the looks of these, but man it's kind of expensive for some mirrors.

They are kind of small, especially compared to the F30 mirrors, which are gigantic!

I'm going to have to look into this, E92 mirrors are pretty small. Wife always complains that she can't see anything and even I have trouble sometimes. One of our previous cars was an IS350 and that had the biggest mirrors of any car short of a bus.

Physically, the mirrors are the same size, but the way they allow you to adjust them gives a MUCH wider field of view.

I'll take some photos when I get home. I already ditched the stock mirrors, so I can't do any before/after shots.

Cheers!

Yeah, that's what I'm looking for. With the small mirrors and big c pillar, I always have to look twice before changing lanes.

Here are my pics. I sat in the driver's seat, in my usual driving position, and put the camera against my nose. This is exactly what I see when I look at the mirrors. The difference from the stock mirrors is really amazing.

Cheers!

The 2011 mirrors are too big IMO- I miss my 2009 E92 mirrors

Yep. They're available for pre/post LCI, with/without heating, and with/without auto-dimming feature.

Glad to help. This is an upgrade WELL worth the cost. The swap itself is dead simple, the old glass literally just pops out, and the new glass snaps in easy-peasy. Took me all of 2 minutes per side, no tools needed.

Cheers!

I'll have to call to be sure what glass to get for heated AND auto dimming mirrors on a 2011 E93

I know ECS has amazing customer support.

Yeah, they do know their stuff for sure. I did the online chat when I was getting my mirrors, only because they're listed as "M3 European...", and I wanted to make sure they'd fit my car.

Cheers!

Ouch...two blows.... they don't carry the blue tinted glass in LCI and they have no auto dimming option mirror glass...bummer.

I'm just not willing to give up that beautiful auto dimming feature

I wonder if the dealership has any such options...

Really? I thought I saw them available for LCI vehicles, too...

Aren't these LCI?
