Turbo Swap

Hi,

Looking to get my turbos replaced. Any of you guys experience with this and wanna help a hand? Or do you know a place that has done a few swaps?
I have some experience with replacing clutches, differentials, transmissions on jack-stands. I wonder if i should consider doing this on jack-stands as well. Planning on taking 2days off from work plus the weekend so that will give me 4days.

Based on what i've seen/read you CAN do the swap on stands, but it'll be tight work either way. Which you already understand I assume based on your post about swapping transmissions on jackstands.

Post this in your regional section as well to see if anyone would lend you a hand

Are you getting RB's? Another aftermarket type? Or OEM

A few advices:

1) drop the subframe (makes the job much easier)
2) buy socket extensions of all sizes and lengths
3) replace all the gaskets and o-rings
4) whatever the amount of hours you think it will take, multiply that by two
5) do a lot of reading before you get started
6) PB blaster is your best friend

Thanks, im thinking either OEM, or Vargas OEM Replacement since im tired of the rattles coming from these things. But then Vargas Stage 1 seems affordable aswell. RB is out of my price range.

If rattle is the main concern, have you tried using a JB4 to control the rattle? I've read posts where 95% of the noise went away just by messing with settings on the JB4.

Just to throw it out there, have you tried taking it in to the dealer for rattle? Warranty on turbos has been extended to like 8yrs/82k miles. Might be able to get it fixed under warranty bud.
