Driver door lock

Hi All,

I have a driver door which i cannot unlock with either key or keyfob. I checked the fuses and they seem fine. Should I upgrade the fuse to 20amp? My passenger door is good. Any ideas with problem? I think door actuator but maybe i missed something.

Very common issue. Check this thread on how to replace your actuator. Make sure to get the kit (p/n 51217263086) that includes both left and right for the price of one. I believe the dealer charges around $400 for each side. Definitely worth DIYing.

most likely the door actuator has a mechanical issue, it's a simple fix based on the link provided above...read through the DIY comments, ppl have posted links on where to get the parts for cheap

What others said. I had the opposite, mine wouldn't lock. New actuator fixed it.

NEVER (EVER EVER EVER) "upgrade" a fuse! The fuse is there to protect your wiring and changing to a larger size fuse effectively turns your wiring into a fuse.

Simple example: Let's say you have a 15A fuse and the wiring can only handle 15A, but you upgraded to a 20A fuse. If 18A of current gets on that circuit due to a short other event causing a spike, your wiring will melt. If you had the 15A fuse, it would blow and you can just change it. Of course, my example isn't accounting for temperature variation and some safety factor in the design.
