It is like 170.00 for lifetime. Just be careful if don't have a good location in town you may never get a decent alignment. Every alignment I have had from them I have had to get done twice.
Still it has saved me money because of suspension work. |

If only you weren't in CA. I wish I knew who did my alignment before I bought it. I doubt it was the dealership I bought from.

Not many positive reviews for Firestone alignment. Good experience for me as well. I know members will chime in and say other wise. I paid $200 or $199.99. I didn't have that 10% off coupon, which would have been nice. But you might have to call around. I called the La Brea location and they said $200. He asked what car I had. Then he asked for $400. Click. Bought it at the Glendale location.

Firestone and flawless, now those are two words that are not often used together.
I do get that the dealerships often overcharge, however, so do indies. But, why would anyone undercharge? Firestone also does mounting and balancing for $17 each. My dealership said they charge $65. imho there is something in-between, but $17 is probably not going to be done right, or not done by a professional. |

I've done the lifetime alignment from firestone on my last 2 cars (including my current E90). Most of the time they do a good job, although I've had a few that required a 2nd trip to get it redone. Overall, I'd say it's a good value.

So $170 for life-time alignment means you can get your car aligned anytime and WITHOUT charge and unlimited times right?

Overall I think I have had 6 or 7 alignments in 2 years? Half of them because a week later I was not happy with the first job. They don't even try to sell me stuff because I keep everything in good shape before I take it in. They never find anything to replace. |

I had the lifetime wheel alignment when I owned my 328i. Firestone did a good job most of the time. The one time they messed up, I took it to the dealer and had Firestone reimburse me for the cost of the alignment. The bill was for over $500.

While I haven't had an alignment from them, I will say their work is very location dependent. I had 2 in town where I used to live in PA. One of them was terrible and always tried to up-sell me on shit I didn't need and I KNEW I didn't need.
On one side of the fence, a Firestone location in town was a block from where my wife worked. I always had her take her old Civic and newer Subraru there because of the convenience for her. They always did an excellent job even on some things with the civic that were more than just normal maintenance. I found their work to be good, their staff to be honest and the whole place to operate with integrity. They never tried to up-sell me or her on anything. Even her clearly knowing nothing about cars at all, they'd always take the time to explain things to her in a way that made sense when she'd tell me what they said. I respected that and we used them regularly for her cars. The second Firestone location they always tried to up-sell me on stuff when I'd go in for oil changes, etc. In 2010, they even failed my PA state inspection claiming bad ball joints on a 2005 Mercury sable with 23K on it we were just given by my grandmother. It was literally her little old lady to grocery store, quilting, and church car. Garage kept. My 85 year old grandfather having only ever owned Ford/Mercury cars meticulously maintained it and had the oil changed every 4 months regardless of how much it got driven. There's NO WAY the ball joints were bad. I went to a different independent shop and was told they were "full of sh*t" and the car passed inspection for 3 more years w/o issue until we sold it. Two different locations 4 miles apart. Very differently run businesses.

That's great to hear. I have yet to see anyone do a good job
with alignment on the first try. The dealership charges a ton and they still can't do it right. My steering wheel is off center. I also have doubts as to whether they did it correctly. I am getting uneven tire wear.

Anyone tried Wal-Mart or Sam's Club? I know I know, stay far away as possible but if the prices are decent and they do a good job, then why not?
On 2nd thought… scratch that…. Better off with a private tire place. What's the avg price for alignment?

For the most part and generally speaking, workers in these places don't care. They're paid minimum wage and don't care whether or not they do a proper job. Even if they do a fantastic job, they don't get any accolades or perks, so they don't really have a reason to care unless they genuinely care.

I used the alignment service twice within a week or two. Had it aligned then hit a pothole. Car didn't feel as good. Took it back and I was good to go after 2 hours or so. Lifetime alignment pays off quickly. Already had 3 alignments since I purchased it.
