328 sputters after highspeed turn through roundabout

My car sputters, as if the engine is not getting enough fuel, when I go through roundabouts in third-gear.

As I approach a roundabout, say in 4th gear, I slow and downshift to 3rd. Lay off the throttle as I enter the roundabout then accelerate as I leave the roundabout. I'm going between 25-30mph, about 1700rpm and as I lay down the throttle engine sputters. I lift off throttle, it sputters for about 2-3 seconds then I put down the throttle and it's fine.

I'm thinking this is a fuel pump issue since the engine appears not to be getting enough fuel.

It's a 2011 328, anyone with similar experience? I'm in need (next month) of bringing it to the local independent shop anyways for brakes but this is really annoying me (and potentially dangerous).

Thanks.

Make sure you have more than a quarter tank of fuel, or slow down. I first experienced at my first HPDE.

-Nice ride BTW.

It's a 45mph zone, I'm going less than 30 when it occurs.

So this happened with yours too? and you chalked it up to too fast through a curve?

and, thanks, it is a nice ride.

sounds like fuel starvation, are u getting any CELs or codes?

I would think there would be a code stored even if no light comes on.

no code or CEL for this issue.

CEL's come on one time, under very hard braking where I didn't downshift (it's not fun avoiding moose on the highway) as I went from 80mph to 15mph and then had to take drastic measures not to hit another vehicle but kept it in 6th gear as I swerved to avoid but killed the car. I slammed it into 3rd at that point (once it died) and the car shuddered violently as I accelerated. The car wasn't "right", coughing and sputtering (that's when the CEL came on) until I was able to turn it off about 3 miles down the road once the highway ended and I was at a red light.

Yes it certainly did. It only occurred while pulling G's in corners. Straights and chicanes no problem. Once I tanked up the issue went away. It was a little un-nerving on corner exit trying to accelerate out. You may also have a misfire. You will not know for certain until she gets hooked up to a proper reader.

Finally fixed

Problem now solved.

Brought the car in for error with climate control and the dealership did the recall work on the VANOS. Since that fix my car is no longer sputtering. Service agent said four bolts were loose.

Glad it wasn't something I had to pay for.
