How do you not stay bored of your car?

Like the tittle says. What do you do to keep your interest in your car? I assuming modifications and what not is one way, but even that has a limit to the point where you don't want to spend any more money on the car. So then how do people who have high mileage not get bored of their cars and keep falling in love with it each and every time?

It's my daily driver, it may be underpowered by a lot compared to my other cars but it makes up by being cheap and easy to fix so trashing it around and making it my own by doing whatever I feel like doing to it (Vinyl colors, interior trim colors, tester to random mods)

Best part for me is my engine is naturally aspirated so it's easier IMO to repair in a driveway and on short notice in the states as only now are turbo cars becoming the norm because of MPG problems. Also this car has no special packages so a lot less electrical problems to deal with. Manual seats FTW! Lol

I think this is a very good question! I've got over 90k miles on my car and have had it for a few years. I try and keep the car clean. Getting into a clean car each day keeps me enjoying the car. Although it pains me to keep seeing the mileage increase....

Own a lessor car to share mileage with but keep modding the BMW to taste.

Keeps a smile on my face at least.

I drive it like I stole it. No literally... I don't own this thing. Some guy had it warming up in his driveway and I grabbed it. Had it ever since...

But in a day of age where there is a constant increase in cars with more power and more technology, does this love for your car still hold constant?

I just recently did a HPDE with the New Jersey chapter of BMWCCA. Driving my car on the track, I really appreciate the bite of my brakes, the smooth acceleration out of corners, the steering feel, etc. These forums sometimes make me feel like my car is way underpowered when I see the tunes the 335 guys run, but after that weekend on the track, I fully appreciate that even now I have more car than I can safely push to the limit.

For me I feel my 328i LCI could last me the next 10 years and that is the reason I picked it.

Tons of them on the road and will be in the junk yard = cheap replacement parts. I already have junkyard parts in my car. Instead of paying 400 dollars for a part I paid 45. This allows me to keep my car in good shape without going broke.

Also, look at the e46. They are still good looking cars and I think 10 years from now the e90 will look good. That is key to me keeping cars.

Besides that for me I think buying a car every few years is a huge waste of money. I don't like buying cars either. The feeling of a all that money gone feels awful to me. Then after a year you are bored of your car and you want another. I think you just have to let go and realize you already have a really nice car. Keep it in good shape and people will always envy you. And I get a good feeling know my car is still going to be running at 250k miles

+1 Solid advice. I would like to run my car till it dies. I drive a 328xi, which is not as powerful as many of the other members bmw's here. And as time dictates, the power of this car compared to others just goes down. So I was just wondering how one sticks with a car that's outdated, lack power, less technologically advanced compared to the current car markets and put those lovely high mileages!

I agree with this.
In addition though, I think mods help keep things fresh, even if they're just visual.

My 335 is the slowest car I own but just right for a daily. In fact it makes a fantastic daily driver. It's smooth, quiet, the AWD is amazing in any weather. It brakes and corners very respectably. Overall I just love it.
For me I think its how practical and overall balanced the car is that keeps it interesting for me.

I drive a 2011 Crown Vic 8hrs a day for work. Just sitting in my 330i is a breath of fresh air. Driving it is icing on the cake.
