My Diamond in the Rough - E90
Hello E90 Community!
It's been a while since I last posted, so I wanted to share how my E90 is doing. About four weeks ago I had to have the rear rotors replaced due to overheating. Talking to the SA, most likely cause of this was my run around the Nürburgring. I also had the valve-cover gasket replaced. Finally, to give the car a art-nevau appearance, I swapped out the angel lights with LED's (6k). Below are some pictures of my diamond. I'm hoping to find a rear lip spoiler, and a diffuser to give the car a more aggressive rear appearance. Also, anybody have experience cleaning, or replacing the muffler tips? Mine are quite dirty, and I'm on the fence about either cleaning or replacing. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! |

I got the kit from Burgermotorsport. I know that some have had issues in the past; however, I had an excellent experience. Here's the page I ordered from: http://www.burgertuning.com/BMW_LED_angel_eyes.html - I went with option number two. LEDs came shipped in a very strong box, and installation was not 100% straight forward (thanks BMW!). I had to pop the wheel arch (forward facing) out, and then replace the bulbs. I also took the opportunity to get the socket set for changing spark plugs. $19.00 shipped. It has worked great already! Total installation of the LEDs was about an hour... 30 minutes on either side. While I had the tires off I swapped the sway bar end links as well... so that may have added some time. I was also in a shop where I had a real lift... there are some Youtube videos that show you how to swap the angel bulbs on the street. HTH

Very nice! I love the 162's. How do you rock that plate?
I clean my OEM exhaust tips with metal polish (it's kind of like grainy toothpaste) and one of those 3m pads - like the kitchen sink kind.

Love the white LED look myself. The only thing that drives me nuts is about every 3 to 6 months they fail. I've lost count but I think I'm on my 4th or 5th set. Luckily my first purchase from ebay the seller stood behind his product and kept shipping me replacements so the first 3 sets I only paid shipping. I'm not sure why they can't be made more reliable.
