Dallas Karting Complex
Anyone in the North Texas area ever go out to Caddo Mills and drive the 60+ mph go karts? It's great fun if you can't afford to have a track car.
Mods I can delete this thread and simply post in the North Texas area thread if that would be better. Last edited by Gmanuel; 03-18-2014 at 12:38 AM.. |

It really is something everyone should do at least once! Even though it's a bit expensive, if you go on a Monday or I think Thursday or Friday, its $15 a heat, and each heat is 10 minutes.
The track is really good; it's about a 3/4 mile long track with 16 turns. A chicane was just added on the front straight, which makes it even more exciting when you're flying through it and take the perfect line. If you can get a lap time below 74 seconds there are 85 mph 2 speed shifter karts, but they're incredibly expensive for one race. I'll provide a link as long as it isn't breaking any rules by doing so. The people who work there are chill and you'll often meet fellow enthusiasts who are cool people. Just the other day, I met a guy who used to do autocross all the time with an 87 MR2, who had just bought an e36 M3 and said he was gonna rebuild it to euro spec; really cool guy. Absolutely a blast! I did 3 60mph races on a Thursday and then one 70mph and the 70mphs where unbelievable fun. I would kill to own one of those things. Don't lift up your visor though, I got pushed off the track once and the front dig in and shot grass all into my eyes hahha

If there were enough people interested, we could get a group of people together and have an e90post mini track day lol. I haven't tried the 70's, but I'm definitely going to next time I go.
Yeah, my friend lifted it up once and caught a tiny rock in the eye, his eye was bloodshot for days. |

I would be down for a weekend trip up there after 4/15. Sounds like fun.

I dunno if we would be able to get much better pricing, but I could look into it. The minimum number of people we would need in order to reserve the track would be 8, so ask your friends. Sometime in April sounds good to me, since I'll be finishing up with school.

Karting is bad ass. I raced the Tony Shifter Carts at Bondarant in Phoenix and they go 0 to 100 to 0 in 10 seconds. Great way to dial in driving skills.
