Question Launch Cars/HEA Still Modifiable?

As the title states...are launch cars/HEA cars still modifiable (as of today 3/5/14)?
I know this would be considered a stretch, but if they still can be modified, couldn't a dealer equate this to an "extra allocation?" In other words, if they were already provided with an allocation as a launch car, but they have a buyer lined up, then why wouldn't this be considered an "free/additional" allocation. Am I wrong here? These cars can be sold to customers, there aren't any restrictions, correct? And maybe there might be even a little more negotiating room???

BTW, what really happens to these dealer launch cars after everyone takes a spirited test drive? Are the demo'd. I have never seen a loaner M car out my way.

They are not modifiable and usually sold once additional models show up on the lot.

Yup that's what I was told. They don't even have allocations yet for orders outside of the demo car. I'm first after the demo. I was told today probably won't see the car till July realistically.

According to forum member Suave the cars have not been modifiable since January.

I visited/called 2 dealers this weekend. The first dealer told me that they had 1 launch car on order which was still modifiable. The 2nd told me that it's no longer modifiable. Nevertheless the 2nd dealer tried to modify their launch car and the order modification actually went through. The modification of the order pushed the production date from early May to late May.

Yeah, I saw this Thread, but Ghetto is an actual CA and noted (2/27) that launch cars were still modifiable...
Regardless, I believe the consensus is now launch cars are no longer modifiable.

Did you actually receive a production date? However, it sounds like you received a customer order if production is "late May." Launch cars are scheduled for production this month with deliveries in June.

I was told week 22 for production and then add a couple of weeks for shipping. Apparently it got bumped back to this week after the order was modified, it was previously scheduled to be produced 2-3 weeks earlier.
