Diy:: Rear Fog, Complete! Using Legos :)

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51749

FOLLOW DIRECTIONS FROM LINK ABOVE TO ACCESS AND OPEN FOG SWITCH. THEN INTEGRATE THIS IDEA

As we all know, we need a little white piece inorder to correctly modify and make our rear fog lights work. Here is a little DIY that'll cost you possibly $0.00. The piece of mind on how well this fits is priceless (well, unless you get the OEM Euro switch then its like.. $55 bucks lol)

ENJOY!

I used LEGOS! Stole them from my little brother

1x flat piece with 3 dimples,
3x SINGLE dimple pieces, looks like little squares

*** I USED THE GREY PIECE WHICH IS EQUIVALENT TO 1 2/3 OF THOSE YELLOW SQURE THINGYS

The LEGO 3 dimple piece is the EXACT width as the BMW soft buttons. I begin to think BMW used legos to mock up their cars lol

WORKS GREAT! My pieces even had a hole in the middle incase i ever decide to drill a small hole in the button for the light to shine through. BTW: Bmw is so nice to even have the factory led already soldered onto the the circuit board. All you need is a small hole for the light to shine through

Great thing about BMW is that they include the rear fog bulbs! whoo hoo, saves us E90/E92 owners $5 bucks

A lot of solutions to do this but for those who don't have legos laying around then all you need is: 1) pen cap, 2) small piece of wood, and 3) glue.

Smile

I hope you don't mind me copying your pics; I used the lego pcs. pictured but modified them (modified mod! lol); I cutted the nipple of the top lego piece (circled red) so I could get a little more contact surface, then I added a coulpe of "cut nipples" on the bottom of the base (circled blue) so the OEM rubber switch doesn't sink into the bottom of the lego base, and finally I used 3 thin lego pcs. (circled green) instead of 2 to compensate for the "cut nipple".
The result; I first tried the way E90 Andy did it, but it did not have that "click" that the front fog light switch have and I have to press the middle part of the button to turn it on (unlike the front ones that you could press the edge and it will turn on also); now the rear fog button has that "click" when you push it, you could also push just the edge and it will turn on, it feels just like the front fog light button now.
