Kidney grill removal

How hard is the grill removal on the 4 series?

I heard that the M Performance parts for the M4 will not be available right at the launch, so I will probably take out the stock kidneys and paint them. I remember that the e36 and e46 were a simple pop in/out with a couple of clips. But the back was easily accessible, being on the hood. How easy is it now?

If it's anything like the F30, it's pretty easy. Undo the screws on the bumper above the kidneys so that you can look behind the kidneys. Then, pinch the tabs while applying a tiny bit of pressure outward, and they will just pop out. Be gentle so that you don't break the tabs.

Once you see what it looks like behind the kidneys, it'll be very self-explanatory.

No need to even undo the front bumper on the f30. Just put your fingers behind the slats and push the tabs. Pretty easy job. I'd think the f32 is the same.

Nice. I didn't even think about that. Must be a little tougher to do on the standard grilles due to more slats.

I did my F32 grills last weekend and the bumper barely pulls forward. I hope you have small arms. The two side tabs are a little difficult. If you can get someone to hold the bumper forward your job will be much easier.
