WTH? SA told me no allocation information and can't place order yet?

Seems like most people on this forum are reporting that their dealer have received information on allocation of the M4 and started placing orders.

But one of the dealers I spoke to in Texas (which I'm also on their waiting list) told me they have no info on allocation and can't place any order, and the SA stated that their manager called BMW NA and that's what BMW told them.

WTH is going on here? Really dumb SA and manager or BMW actually release the allocation information differently?

Same exact reply from my dealer in Dallas with regards to customer order, not dealer order. He said he will know in March.

I believe they only have the Launch allocations. My dealer had only one Launch allocation for an M4 and none for the M3. As of today nothing has changed. He is going to contact me when he sees something. I'm in NY btw...

By Launch Allocation you mean the dealer's demo car?

Yes, but some folks have been offered to buy a launch car rather than waiting until April for when customer car orders open up. I was offered to buy one of my dealer's launch M4s.

It's probably too late to ask them about the launch car at this time isn't it? lol

What's the bad thing about the launch cars?

Stopped by the dealership today.

No allocation information yet. He also seemed very pessimistic that I could get European Delivery pricing.

Well at this piont they are probably already ordered in a specific configuration. For me it was that I want an M4 not an M3.

If they would have offered me the launch M4 and it had decent options/color I probably would have taken it. Someone already has it locked up.

Ah I see, I'm not gonna take it if they can't configure it the way I want it.

Yeah the dealer gets to configure the launch cars so some people did configure them and are buying them. At this point I believe those orders are locked per GOLFRR.

If any dealer have a changeable launch M4 I'd probably order it in a heart beat lol

I placed an order (with deposit) last November with the understanding that I would be configuring and receiving one of the launch cars. Dealer told me this week that their understanding is that they are receiving a Black/Black M4 as their launch car (not what I specified), they had no choice on options, and that BMWNA said all dealers are getting the same launch car.

Still in 047 status for my order...

Not true. Each dealer was able to spec their launch cars as they wanted. My dealer has two launch M4s, one loaded--including CCB and the other "lightly optioned."

My dealer in Bay Area showed me his allocation sheet for all his vehicles and showed me his numbers for 2014, including the M3 and M4. Said he just got the updated allocation info for his dealer last Friday.

Any folks in Austin on the list for BMW of Austin? My SA knows how eager I am but I have no idea how far down the list I am. I asked him to get me on the"waiting list" about this time last year. Hasn't even asked for a deposit yet...so the "list" must be very fluid.

I've bought 2 cars from these guys so they know I'm serious about buying the car.

As I type this, the ONLY modifiable M3/M4 in the US are the dealer launch cars aka HEA cars. People on the forum who have received a production # means that whatever dealer they are working with, offered to sell them their HEA car. Every M3/M4 put in to the order bank will show up as 047-Status, which means no production slot available. This is true because allocations slots have not been divided yet amongst dealers. Furthermore, no dealer can mark the 047-Status cars for European Delivery until allocation have been given out by BMW AG/BMW USA or else they will be deleted in the order bank if marked for European Delivery.
