Spacers, Rubbing, and Roundel questions.
If I purchase wheels from a place like TireRack, and they have a generator that lets you know what wheels can fit on your car, do they fit without any spacers, and without any rubbing whatsoever?
I see they have 19" wheels as well as 20" wheels that would look massive on a e90. If you turn a 20" wheel, it's unlikely there won't be some rubbing right? And as for spacers, I hear it's not good to put spacers on because it's easier for damage to happen. For example, someone I know had a car with spacers, and while he was driving, the rim came off! Lastly, is there any way to affix a BMW roundel on any rim I get? |

As for the spacers, just make sure you get matching screws which are that longer as the spacer is thick.

Tire Rack told me that they test fit all rims before the recommend them, so they should know about fitment. I also believe at least one of their employees drives a BMW so I know he a happy man with a constent supply of new wheels and tires.
If you need spacers use common sense with the thickness of the spacer, make SURE that they are hub centric and that you use a longer lug bolt. You should also check a make sure that those same spacers will work with the rims. Check that CENTER BORE configuration. As for being concerned about the safety, many racers use them with no adverse problems. Last edited by eros613; 12-23-2005 at 03:31 PM.. |

Tirerack will not reccomend a bad set-up. Yes, they test fit, and they don't advise spacers. If you go with a set-up that needs spcers, make sure they are hub-centric like was already stated. Also they must be fitted with longer lug bolts to be safe.
