Real World MPG / MPGe

What real world MPG will the i3 REX get under the following conditions using the range extender?

This morning I had to run a round-trip errand of 60 miles and drove my BMW Active Hybrid 3 solely in ECO Pro mode. The car is rated at 25 MPG City & 33 MPG highway and the route was 80% highway @ 65 MPH and 20% local streets @ 35 MPH

I don't have an i3 yet, but I can tell you how efficient my LEAF is, and figure the i3 is lighter and more efficient.

I drove 30 miles yesterday on about 8 kWh or energy. Charging at home at 10cent/kWh puts it at about 80 cents to go 30 miles. Had I of spent $3.20, or less than the price of 1 gallon of fuel, I would have gone 120 miles!

It all depends on how much you pay for energy, but with SCE EV time of use plans, you get the charge for 10 cents kWh between 12am and 6am. So weighed against fuel, you get the equivalent of 120mpg+

This was all on the FWY, cruising 65mph. But truth of the matter is, at the Westfield mall, the charging was free. So the 2 hours I spent at the mall, almost covered my 30 miles. That is with the built in 3.3Kw charger. Had I of had a newer LEAF or i3 with at least the 6.6kw charger, I would have easily covered the whole trip in 1.5 hrs of charging or less.

Of course I have the Nissan Quick charger capability. There a couple dealerships around me that have 24/7 accessibility and are absolutely free to charge. I pick up about 40 miles of driving in about 30 minutes of charging.

Also, to gauge efficiency relative to gas, compare the energy contents.

A gallon of gas has approximately 33kWh of energy in it.
A i3 or LEAF only holds about 2/3 that amount of energy...(22-24 kWh) in their battery packs. Yet they can travel 70miles + on that 2/3 gallon of fuel equivalent.
