Weird boost readings on stock car....

Hey guys,

I have an STRI boost gauge like a few other members on here. I hooked it up following these instructions http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...+gauge+install

The issue is that for some reason the car reads between 9.5 and 10.5 PSI and it's a COMPLETELY stock car. Is my boost gauge inacurate or is my source for boost no good?

Thanks in advance

I assume you are getting those readings under full load? If so, does the gauge come back to 0 when the engine is not running?

It could be a slight calibration issue wih the gauge.

It's an electric gauge. When the engine is not running the gauge goes all the way to the bottom (which is something like 20 or 30 VAC) so it does not technically sit at 0. However, it does stop where the rest/stop point is.

^Hmmm... I have only run mechanical boost gauges in my turbo cars, but they have always stopped at zero when I shut the car off.

When the engine is stopped and the power is still on, it should (?) read zero boost.

it should go to 0. i had an electrical gauge on my s/c prelude but it was reading wrong. i decided to put a mechanical gauge and finally it is reading right. get a mechanical gauge and see the result.
