For those of you buying M3/M4, what payments are you looking at?

Just curious?

Also, if you are comfortable answering, what is your yearly salary?

And....did you have the convince the wife, ha.

Not questions I would ask in the real world, but hey, this is the internet and am curious what the average M3/M4 driver makes salary wise.

$650/mo (7 yr loan, 2%APR currently), $20k down on $68k incl taxes, ED MSRP. Hopefully it will be a bit less if I can get a invoice + XX deal.

No on the wife, she knows I've wanted to replace my 2001 330i E46 in 2016 and I'll be bringing her to the ED for a vacation so that helps a bit. Plus she did enjoy the ED when we went to pick up my E46 in 2000.

Re: salary, rather not say publicly. You can PM me if it's important in your calculations.

My apologies....

Sorry for the upfront question....I understand some folks may not be comfortable answering in regards to salary.

I'm currently 25 years old with a 2013 328i Sportline, and just trying to eyeball where I should be financially before I'm able to pull the trigger on a new M3...or used one at some point!

60 month with 3% apr.
I just used 36% of car's msrp as final balloon payment. This percentage will vary depending on lease residual and your credit score.

Then just use calculator here to get your number.

No prob....but it really depends not on how much you make but rather how many other expenses you have monthly....if you have kids in college, have big cc debt, pay alimony, big mortgage payments, etc.

Sometimes when I see threads like this I am shocked at some of the salaries I see buying 60-80k cars...with some of those numbers I couldn't even afford a Honda accord...

Here is some light reading:

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/25/bu...rupt.html?_r=0

And a choice excerpt:
How far does $375,000 a year go in New York City? Strip out estimated income taxes ($7,500 a month), domestic support ($10,517), insurance ($2,311), a mandatory contribution to his retirement plan ($5,900), and routine expenses for rent ($2,460 a month) transportation ($550), food ($650) and miscellaneous outlays for things like utilities, medical expenses and cellphone and Internet service, and Mr. Owens estimated that he was running a small monthly deficit of $52, according to his bankruptcy petition. He has gone back to court to get some relief from his divorce settlement, so far without any success.

First time poster here. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the M4, but I've never preordered before. Couple questions for the more seasoned bimmerposters:

1) is it common for one to pay full MSRP on the preorder?

2) some of you guys have great financing rates. Are you guys getting your loans from bmw?

Thanks.

Look if you have any credit unions around you that you qualify to join. They usually have decent rates. For example, my 1.6% (for up to 60 months) is from the Air Force FCU. I knew that eventually I will want to use their financing, so I have kept a bare minimum account with them for almost 7 years.

If my calculations all came out correctly, looking at a monthly payment of about $804.91 when doing BMW Select. MSRP of $87,236 including taxes and destination & handling. Putting about $10k down between cash and trade-in value. Only thing I didn't calculate into the equation is the tags/title but that would be about $1,300 at most (yes we in AZ get screwed as it goes by the value of the car and some ridiculous formula they use).

I used that figure as well in my calculations. My CA said that is typical amount but couldn't give an exact at that time since pricing hadn't been released when we were discussing it.

I used the same parameters but for 77k and 2,500 down.. I got a monthly of roughly 909 and change... Im happy with that as I'm not a fan of putting a lot of money down on vehicles..
