Anyone knows if you get your money back if you put a deposit

Anyone knows if you get your money back if you put a deposit?
How much do they normally require?

I can't see that they cant give you back your deposit, since the car will always sell.

Depends upon if you put down a non-refundable deposit or not. Some states don't allow non-refundable deposits and some do. Check the paperwork you signed when you put down the deposit.

In PA you get your money back. When I was ordering the RS5 one dealer tried to play that game with me even have the nerve to ask for 10% down!! went to another dealer who told me I don't even have to put a deposit.

Because some non-BMW dealers I know previously, would want a deposit to even have you test drive their car...
I would love to test drive these new bad boys before I even commit on putting my M3 on the market. For once its sold, its gone and done
... and have to live with the forfeiting the deposit when Im not really sold on the car or force to go through then thinking Wow! its really not that bad of a car...
but for all this money, why wouldn't it not be.

In Texas, the deposits are refundable, but the dealer can keep the depot till they sell the car if you end up not buying the vehicle.

doesn't make sense, for the car will surely sell no matter what.. maybe they want to make a few interest or have the buyer change his mind and buy any other car. Tricky Dicky
