GPS System Fail?

I've pretty much run out of patience with the navigation system on this car - for a 100k car, you'd think that they'd perfect the GPS but I've had many a bad experience from the system losing my coordinates, to taking me in an endless loop or ending up a block away from my actual destination.

Has anyone had success updating their GPS to iron out these kinks? Mine is a 2013 with a delivery date of November 2012.

Anyone care to provide some sort of solution that they've successfully implemented?

It looks like the GPS system is shared across all models of BMW's line: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=700662

In last place of all GPS systems compared - that is so sad. BMW, I hope you lurk these forums and get this addressed as soon as possible.

Audi was smart to outsource to Google Maps rather than attempting to squander precious R&D dollars on useless products in the end.

I believe late 2014 models have a different navigation system all together (faster cpu and updated software). I test drove a January 2014 build 535 and it had a very different navigation/map software than the september 2014 CP M5 I drove. The color/icons/labels were all different and the maps was extremely fast. They also have different menus in the views section.
