FBO Long Island 335
so i have been looking to get a 335 or 135, test drove one the other day, all stock and it just didn't feel that quick. i was wondering if anyone who has has a tuned or fbo one would be willing to take me for a spin. i am out in suffolk county down by hecksher state park in east islip. currently have a 2007 passat fbo that i've had since new and i think its time to upgrade. thinking of sedona red 135 msport or crimson 335.

VRSF 7" Intercooler BMS DCI KW V2 Coilovers M3 Front Control Arms OpenFlashTablet (sold) This car runs awesome with a tune, I'll be putting a Cobb or OFT back in the spring since I don't drive much during the winter.

There is nothing to think about, the passat is slow as sh*t compared to a 335. Isn't the Passat FWD? Any 335 with a tune will be quicker than the vw you drive now IMO.

A stock 335 and One with just a JB4 tune is a night and day difference....

OP -- PM me, I have an FBO car (COBB PROtune by Bren, aFe DCI, Helix FMIC, Akra DPs, ER CP, Forge DVs) and will be in Long Island/Glen Cove-area for a bday party that night. If you wanna meet up somewhere & it's nice out, sure I can leave a little earlier and take you for a few pulls.
Obviously you'll be running the car outside of it's OEM design/setup, but as long as the car is regular maintained & on a solid tune (safe AFR, timing, boost) the car is more than capable of handling the increased performance setting.

i test drove a black 2011 135 non m sport from habberstad in bay shore, 6 speed, maybe it was just too smooth, i have a stage 2+ fbo 2.0t in my passat that i would guess is around 270 crank hp 290 tq, and only weighs 3200 or 3300 lbs maybe im just used to the boost spike. that and i have never owned a rwd car before, tracked mine at lime rock a few times. just want to be sure im making the right move.

stock 335 is quick, but probably not mind blowing. Though, stock still might give your passat a run for its money.
find someone with a n54 FBO. if they have a jb4, it would be easy to show you stock vs tune modes.

I have an '09 BSM 335 coupe available for sale. Listed in the tri-state regional forum "FS: 2009 Black Sapphire Metallic..."
Running Active Auotwerke (AA) Stage II tune, AA down pipes, AA exhaust, 7" intercooler, etc. and she is a beast. Let me know if you're interested in coming to CT to test drive and take this baby home. |
