Yeah my F30 has it. Funny thing is, I used to own another car that had it. A 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix I had in HS and through college. Somewhat nostalgic to have it again...except it's in a car that has an interior built with materials NOT sourced from Rubbermaid.

The HUD is the most underrated BMW option. The F30 scroll wheel is abysmal to use with the base dashboard display that shows one line of text, but is a perfect match with the HUD. Almost forgives BMW for getting rid of << and >> buttons on the steering wheel. Almost.

HUD can show you directions, by using the scroll wheel you can see on the hub the various media options i.e different radio stations, and you see the title of the song playing

There are seemingly few people who have HUD that don't like it but, there are loads of people who have it and love it. This weight of opinion convinced me to order it and I'm so glad I did

It's a cool gadget. It's nice for the first few weeks, cool to show off to your friends and reminds you that you got the loaded car. It's just not as impressive as people make it out to be. I had mine in the f30, and it went from AWESOME, to cool, to Ok it's getting in my way, and finally to ok, I can live with it.
Now I'm back in an e92, and I truly hardly miss it. I never look at the windshield, only to not find it and begin panicking or swerving off the road because I don't have one. Again, if I was not actively using the HUD (navigation and what not), it was kind of in the way if I'm being entirely honest with myself. If you have it, you'll love it. If you don't, you will "somehow" manage to live without it and find ways to cope. You poor souls. |

HUD shows:
Current Speed Speed Limit info, if available Cruise control info Navigation Info Telephone Info Entertainment Info Diagnostic info/warnings And I believe, early crash warning Honestly Speed Limit info is a feature I never thought I'd use, but I love. Sure it's not like having a radar detector, but the awareness of the speed limit sign you didn't see is very helpful when you drive places where there are multiple changes. It is also very nice to see the navigation info in the HUD. Best of all though, is like mentioned before. The loss of the << >> buttons for the scroll wheel from E90 to F30 has left a lot to be desired, and the HUD w/ entertainment is the missing link. With that being said, I really would love to see my revs and gears in the HUD, and would love this as a software update. The 8 speed AT is so smooth, it is sometimes difficult to know what gear you're in so I think would be good to know. Overall great feature, wouldn't have a new car without it |

I don't ever want a car without HUD after having it. Never thought I'd even care or it would block my vision. I was wrong. It's awesome and hate driving cars without it.
I was thinking about a m235 but heard they don't come with it as an option. That's enough for me to go from seriously thinking about a cool car to not even giving it another look. |

Definitely love the HUD -
Had E9x's with navigation and would always split screen navigation to see the directional as well as map. No longer split screen at all because the directional pops up right on the HUD! Also, dont even use the center console to change music anymore, all done through the HUD
