Ebay Seller stonecarbon2009 AVOID

Avoid this seller at all costs, I paid for these on 21st Jan 2014, I have still not received them. After questioning him on where they are , this was his reply. Sorry or taking so long, the grills are damaged do you still want them or a refund, when iI asked for a refund he asked me to cancel the transaction (even though I had already paid) I said no refund first. He then sent me a cancelation of transaction request, so I declined it. I had to take this further with EBay to finally get my money back. AVOID THIS SELLER!

Seller is stonecarbon2009

Hi,

Sorry for my late updates.

We will come back soon.
And here we find a little problem on this grille,
I attached pictures for your reference.
Please confirm if it is ok for you.
It is like scratch, caused by mold.

If it is not ok,
we can cancel your purchase and do full refund.

Wait for your reply.
Thank you!

Best regards!

Hi Sir,

You just declined to close the case,
so we can not open the case again.
Then we can not cancel the purchase too.

I will contact Ebay for details.
Now it is Sunday in China,
we have to contact Ebay tomorrow.

And Ebay told us you should accept the cancel case firstly,
then we do refund.

Best regards!

Hello,

Here we contacted Ebay,
and they say we may not get back the transaction fee from Ebay.

And we want to know if we can do partial refund?
Because the grill is fine, will not damage your car,
there is only a little mark on ABS part,as the pictures( I sent you) showed

Wait for your response.
Thank you very much!

Best regards!

He wants to be refunded but the seller wanted to cancel transaction first. This will put him in a disadvantage as canceled transaction don't get refunded automatically.

OP: I suggest you open a case so eBay can look into the matter. Do not accept cancellation request without being refunded.

That is all correct, I refused to cancel he said he would not refund until i had cancelled or accepted his cancellation request, if i had done that I don't think I would have ever got my money back. He did offer a partial refund to, but I told him no and I opened a case against him.

To be honest, if they were to buy from the seller on Ebay I bought from, Im only trying to help them too or they could be in the same position as me and having to fight for my money back. Everyone is happy to post links of people selling things for there F30 on ebay (this user was one of them) All im saying is BEWARE.

The seller is giving him the runaround, and I think, the warning has merits and is useful in this case. People might agree to cancelling transactions without realizing the repercussion, and I suspect, is what the seller is expecting. Filing a case is the right move and let eBay put pressure on the seller. At most, he'll get refunded, at least, eBay will take care of it with their 100% satisfaction guarantee and the seller may get reprimanded/banned/forced to pay.

I also think that the confusion lies in the subsequent posts from OP without quotes. I get it that it was the seller's reply but it may not be readily apparent to some. Quoting it, or simply summarizing might help a bit.

You should pay for your auctions with a credit card. Don't ever trust eBay or PayPal with your money. Your credit card company can always reverse the charges since they work for you. Paypal works for eBay, the don't give 2 sh*ts about you.

I've learned the hard way. I was sold a completely different phone than what was described in the ad. It wasn't even the right model. eBay/Paypal wouldn't refund me unless I got a professional written letter from someone that the item was not as described. Like who?? All they could tell me was that it had to be from a person with knowledge on the subject and it had to be typed in a letter. So I called my credit card company and they reversed the charges instantly after several days of stressful calls to Paypal and hours of phone conversations that never got anywhere.

There was another time when someone hacked my eBay account and posted about 20 auctions under my account. I had no idea about it until I checked my credit card and saw all these Paypal charges for auctions I never put up. Paypal would not refund me this money, even after speaking to several "managers". I was about to call my credit card company when eBay, themselves, sent me an email stating how they monitored some suspicious activity on my account and that it was compromised. Luckily they reversed the charges and cancelled the fake auctions.

Lesson learned. Never trust eBay or Paypal, they are terrible companies. Always use your own credit card for that added security in case you need to reverse charges. And never, NEVER link your Paypal to your eBay account as they will just automatically deduct from the bank account tied to your Paypal instead of going through your credit card.

Bahn this tread was helpful. The OP showed the conversation of the runaround from the seller so it was not just his word saying the seller was bad. He was backing his statement up. Warned people of the seller and not to mention for those of us not eBay geniuses learned not to accept the cancel order request when you want a refund.

It's a shame Stonecarbon dropped the ball on your order. I have seen them successfully deliver very high quality products on m3post and mbworld forums but I am definitely glad you didn't settle for a flawed product and pushed for your refund. Update us as more comes to light and maybe post up a picture that they sent you of the damage on the product. I hope they don't try to pawn it off as a good product to another member!

Sorry, I should have made it clear, posts 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 were all messages from the seller. This afternoon I have finally got my money back after opening a case against him. Just wanted to warn everyone he was asking for the sale to be cancelled, first asked me to do it, then sent a cancellation request for me to accept. I f the case had been cancelled, I don't think I would have got any money back at all.
