LCI Entertainment Screens

Can anyone who own the new 2014 entertainment screens comment on how they work? I have a 3 year old and she loves watching cartoons mainly on youtube but we have a lot of other videos as well. Is this something we can control (myself or my wife) from the front seat or do you have to be in the back seat? Any info is greatly appreciated - it would be better if you can post pictures.

Thanks!

The controller only works from the back seat (this is what BMW told me). I guess it's infrared with the sensor behind the front seats.

Neil has them and will be able to comment better I'm sure.

you really have to be in the back seat as its not obvious what you are selecting, the remote works from the front seat but you can't check what you are doing with it. Its a bit of a pain in the arse to be honest, especially if you have a DVD with lots of menus/trailers. I burn my own DVD-R's to avoid that agro.

I have them in my car too it would have been much better if they were touch screen using the remote sucks. Its funny anyone who goes in my back seat doesn't even bother cause it to complicated for them. I guess for kids its not to bad cause you set it before you leave to go some where and plays and you can control it from the front of the car too using the Idrive but you can't really tell whats going on it the back.
