Brake reset

I just completed a rear brake job on my wife's BMW X5 (e70).

I put new Brembo rotors on the rear and euro akebono ceramic brake pads.

I of course installed a new brake pad sensor.

I reset the rear brake pad sensor in the computer and it allowed me to reset it but only put 31,000 miles on it.

This is the first brake job on the rear. I took off the original rotors and pads. Amazingly, I got 113,500 on the original set of pads and rotors.

What I can't understand is why it is only showing 31k after I just got 113k on the original set.

Will the CPU adjust ?

Please advise....

My car said 47k miles for both front and rear. I don't know if anyone if aware of the formula BMW uses to calculate. As long as ur sensor flies not break again, the 31k estimate should have no impact. How do h like the akebono? I did the same for both front and rear and I do feel they are not as grabby as the oem's

Yeah you're fine it'll actually show that it's due when you trip the sensor.

I am not sure how I like it dislike the akebono pads yet since I have only had them on the rear for less then 200 miles.

I did complete a break in procedure I read on line that was from Akebono. I did this 8 times. You speed up to 60mph and then firmly press on the breaks without setting off the ABS until you reach 15mph. You repeat this 8x.

I will agree they are not as grabby.

I might be able to form a better opinion once the front is done in about 18,000 miles.
