Smile Back in the BMW Family

Hey Fella's, (posted this in the main forum as well)

tman here, from way back when. A lot of you don't know me / never heard of me. A few of you do! I previously owned a 2006 E90 330i back when they first came out. Got involved with the whole E90post / NCC CCA chapter / meets / mods / socials back then. Met a whole bunch of cool folks.

Then life changed and SHTF so to speak. But hey, then it changed again. A few times. And now changed again. So here I am, about to purchase a used 06 E90 330i ZSP,ZPP,ZCW,NAV, 6 MT with high mileage. I don't want a payment nor want to be out of pocket too much so I'm going old and used.

So I just wanted to say HI again and ask what's been happening since I've been gone. LOL.

What do I need to know about the E90 330i. I'm going to accessorize it like I did the old one to start and get it tinted.

Welcome back man. You won't regret it provided you're not afraid to get your hands dirty with a DIY once in a while. The 330 is an amazing car, though I may be slightly biased

I regret getting rid of the first one I had. But c'est la vie as they say. I can do quite a bit of DIY and have already compiled a list of maintenance tasks I want to do as well as some modding to the interior and exterior.

I will probably end up getting it tinted at LA Tint and then see what Raja can do for me too. I'd love to supercharge it but that will came much later.

Just buy a Porsche

No the E90 330i has been a good car. No real problems or anything. My girl has 143k on hers and it's still going strong. No major problems except general maintenance. Just replaced rear brake pads and rotors, as well as the coolant hose.

Now that my 328xi is paid off/no car payments, my 911 search is upgraded from passive to less passive
328xi will remain my daily.. 70k miles and 0 issues besides an occasional misfire.

I think a supercharger is a little unrealistic. I'm not sure there are any kits for the N52 and even if there were, you'd be better off putting the money towards a 335. Save your money for suspension and cosmetic upgrades. And the N52 performance exhaust is amazzzzzzzing. While the performance gains are negligible, the exhaust note is damn near perfect in my opinion.

Yeah, I don't know if a SC is available for the 330 I just threw it out there. I'm also thinking about the BMW performance exhaust as well as the BMW performance intake (or other any aftermarket variety). I agree on the sound, it is quite intoxicating.

Buy my local 2007 335 which only has 22,000 miles on it, and in great condition. See mods in signature. Silver, but hey you would be getting a lot of mods in great condition for next to nothing. Most mods done by Clem or at Clem's and a couple done by at speed motorsports.

Too late man. I picked up the 330i today. I'm taking it to RRT in Dulles on Monday for some work as I bought it wholesale and it needs some TLC.

Although I did get it washed today and the Electric Red color is just fantastic!!! I sure did miss the ride of the E90 though.

DONNY!!!!!!! You so funny. Nah, still here and kicking, although barely. How have you been? Is the E90 scene just as cool as it was back in '06/07?

Eh same ol same ol....I was away from the BMW scene but came back recently too

Different social dynamics today...the 06/07 years (aka the good ol' days) were really a perfect storm of E90 novelty, collective curiosity, an abundance of free time and immaturity (in equal parts), never to happen again
