Are there any good hand wash places near Seattle?

It's that time of the year in Seattle again, rain rain rain and more rain... Oh well, the past week wasn't too bad but it'll come soon so depends on your taste it's either or

For me it's because I got a black car. I had a black car before and I took her to a machine car wash.. I mistreated her. So I was wondering if there is any good hand wash places near Seattle. And how much do they charge?

Thank you all

best way is to wash it yourself with microfiber wash mitt and mf towels.. if you have to go to a car wash because of the freezing weather, I suggest you find a touchless carwash with high pressured soap and water.. or you can take it to a local detail shop for around $20-30 bucks.

Wow asd where do you know of a detail place that charges $20-30? Oh, as I'm writing this I realized I take my company car to the Pink Elephant on Pacific Ave in Tacoma, and that's ~$30. But I would never even think of taking my other cars there. For my Saab it's great.

You might want to give this place a try. They do a ton of high end cars, and they have different packages. It's called Mirror Works, and they are in Seattle (and a few other places).

I've never been here, but I found this on Craig's List:
http://www.dereksdetail.com/pricelist.html

Shows $15 for a basic hand wash up to $35 for the top wash package. They list a Seattle and an Issaquah location.

Another thread recommended Genesis on the Eastside. http://www.genesisdetail.com/services/ Shows $10 for a basic wash, and $20 for the one comparable to Derek's listed above.

Mercer Island, Albertsons grocery store. Next to the store is a handwash setup and they do a fantastic job, full vacuum, tire shine, carpet cleaning...a fresh smell in the car as if it were detailed! highly recommend it. I used to take my topaz car there often, and I never trusted anyone but myself or them to hand wash it. $20 bucks its well worth it.

I will probably take my car in for the touchless carwash for the undercarriage because of all the grime and chemicals from the rain/ snow/ etc...

There's a new touchless high pressure car wash at a Shell station on 164th in Lynnwood. The $13 deluxe wash does a descent job. You still need to do the nitty gritty's though ie sides of you rear licence plates, as it doesn't really get to those areas.

I only used it ones in a awhile when I can't wash the car myself.

If I can't do it myself I usually take it to Karmichaels up here in the north end. $20 for exterior hand wash and tire dressing. Another $10 or so for vacuuming and interior windows.

I've never got decent washes at touchless places and I'm too lazy to do it by and and too cheap to get it detailed only to get rained on the way home.

Am I one of the few people that is satisfied taking my car to Brown Bear?

Depends......

Do you go to Brown Bear and wash it yourself or do you drive it through the machine.....

I take my daily driver through their machine when it is cold out and when the car is very very dirty.... All it takes is 3 Brown Bear washes to get the wax completely off the car with all the chemicals they are spraying on ....

On late at nights I just put all of my car wash stuff among w/ my bucket and go to one of their DIY places and wash the car myself usually.... It costs $4.00 total and I usually have the whole place to myself.....

Guys. Forget about touchless washes, home washing, pink elephants and the rest. Take your car to Genesis Wash and Detail and forget about it.

For $20 they will hand wash your car, attacking every nook and cranny, including your wheel spokes. Then they dust down the interior, shampoo your floor mats, chamois-dry, and dress your tires. Because they use 2-3 people to do it, its finished in under an hour while you wait if you want. It would normally take me at least two hours to do all that on my car by myself.

I'm so happy I found this place and I think its ridiculously good value. Call in a couple days ahead of time to get an appointment. I usually get in right when they open at 9 and am at work by 10. Just ask for the Super Wash and enjoy.

I just had my car super-washed at Genesis on Saturday. The car looked awesome inside/outside except I later noticed some big-ass swirl marks on the hood. Might have been a result of a prior wash, but I doubt it because I was the one washing the car all the time before. However, I think the truth is that no commerical car wash will result in a total absence of swirl marks expecially on a dark paint.

Just had mine washed there today and was expecting to have to go back to my place and touch it up. It actually does a great job. Some nooks and crannies were still a little dirty, but it's great for a winter wash job. And for 11 bones you really can't beat it.

I agree... but make sure you make an appointment... it's $20 well spent!
Might try Karmicheals though... they have a location right down the street

Hi,
Which Shell gas station on 164th? Is it the one next to Walmart, or the one on the west side of the freeway?

Had my car washed at Genesis 2 weeks ago. Swirl marks are pretty bad. I guess no commercial car wash can replace a good hand wash.
