Parking brake useless after replacing pads and rotors

Hello,
I replaced my pads and rotors today using Hawk HPS plus turner slotted rotors (which were surprisingly stoptech rotors) and after the DIY my parking brake cannot hold the car if parked on a somewhat steep incline. Why would replacing my pads and rotors cause this? Is it likely that just an adjustment is necessary, or what is the typical fix for this?

On another note, I am shocked at how much less initial bite this setup has compared to OEM, even after proper bed in. Hopefully I'll get used to it.

Thanks,
Simon

All parking brake systems have some sort of self-adjuster. I do not know how the BMW one works, but many adjust when you go in reverse and use the brake...so, I'd find a safe place and try backing up and hitting the brakes hard a few times and see if it gets better.

It won't hurt, and may solve it. Somebody probably knows for sure and may pop in, but give it a shot.

Did you use any penetrant? Or maybe some grease got on shoes?

There is a fairly straight forward adjustment procedure. How many clicks do you get with a normal pull on lever?

Adjusting it fixed it, thanks guys. Now if I could only get used to the way these pads perform...

FYI...they feel is gone. Well at least the initial bite is. OEM is best for pedal feel. I've had HPS for awhile now, not my favorite but its ok.
