Bizarely I made a general enquiry of bmw customer services simply to try to find out if a ppk upgrade will become available for the 320i earlier this week.
Didn't want chapter and verse just a simple yes or no would have done but apparently I also need to provide my vin? Suppose there must be a reason but no idea what it is. I've asked them..... |

There have been threads on this before, the price seemed to be around £1300 inc VAT fitted by dealer.
You'd need to tell your insurance company too, that might add a few quid |

With regards to insurance - it wont increase premium as its official/approved BMW accessory. Called and checked already.

Surely your dealer can simply stick in the details from one of their cars...? That's what mine did...

Regardless of whether this is a BMW fitted option, surely this should affect the insurance cost as the car is a higher risk, being faster?

Technically , you are absolutely right. Had a chat with insurance folks and was told that it wouldn't increase premium. Other insurers might have different view though.

Provided my vin and reg number to bmw uk and got a response this morning......
They have apparently investigated my "concern" whatever that was and can now confirm that I need to contact my dealer to ask this question. god knows how many departments this question went through to come to this momentous decision. What a complete waste of time. |

I would think you need the Brakes included package....RRP £1600. They were doing that one for £1260 including VAT. Fitting was about £400 from memory, more than the kit I had fitted because it includes the bigger front brakes. Worth having the brakes upgrade, they improve pedal feel even at slow speeds. EDIT: If your car isn't in build yet, can't you upgrade the brakes to M Sport? Only £600 ish from memory, and if you spec the M Sports plus kit the brakes come with it, HK, Xenons, etc. |
