Stoptech Racing Brake Pads now available!
We now offer Stoptech Racing Brake pads to users here on the forum. Stoptech offers 4 different compounds (SR30, SR32, SR33, SR34) and each compound has it's own characteristics.
THESE PADS ONLY WORK WITH STOPTECH CALIPERS! SR30 Compound -Medium to low friction levels with linear torque curve with rising temperature -Extreme high temperature fade resistance -Excellent modulation and release characteristics -Repeatable performance -For Touring Car rear applications and others requiring lower torque SR32 Compound -Similar friction levels to the SR34 Compound -Linear torque curve with temperature rise with excellent release characteristics -Superb abraded disc wear -Maximum high-temperature stability -For medium to high horsepower applications that require higher friction levels SR33 Compound -Slight reduction in torque compared to SR34 Compound -Excellent pedal modulation for applications requiring a medium friction level -Flat torque curve with temperature rise -Extreme fade resistance -Great for rear applications that require less friction but same level of control as SR34 Compound SR34 Compound -Superior pedal feel and modulation characteristics -Formulated for high initial bite -Slight torque rise with temperature -Extremely low pad and abrade disc wear -All purpose pad for high grip, high power application Here's a link to their site: http://www.stoptech.com/racing/racin...ing-brake-pads Last edited by r1concepts; 01-08-2014 at 08:05 PM.. |

Are these pad compounds compatible with their street performance line? That is, does one need to remove the pad transfer layer when switching between the street and race compounds, or not (a la carbotech)?

Unfortunately, we here at R1 have not officially tested these pads out yet. I do know that these pads will perform better than the Stoptech street performance pads. This is because it's part of their racing line of products they offer. I would say that Stoptech is competing with Hawk for their track pads. To give you a heads up on pricing, their SR34 pad compound which is their best pad ranges a little over $340 retail. So this is a pretty aggressive pad.
