Strange bit of plastic found in passenger footwell

Just got in from work and got my stuff from the passenger footwell and found a bit of black plastic lying there. No idea where it's come from or what it's for, it must be from the underneath of the seat or something. Please see photos below.

Any ideas?

It's off the very front leading edge of the outside runner (presumably to stop you catching your heel). Mine dropped off once...

Have a look on the outside runner on the driver's side and your see the fit - don't lose it, the seat may come of the front of the runner!!

I did assume that's what it was. Couldn't work out how it went on. Doesn't help that every time I use the car it's pitch black!!
