Indicator repeaters

Does anyone else find the bright indicator repeater situated in the wing mirror an issue when trying to look in the wing mirror at night (eg, changing lanes on a motorway)?

Personally, I think it's a design flaw.

I have mentioned this before, I was turning right into a side road, I was stood waiting for oncoming traffic to pass, it was raining so the side window was was, each time the mirror flashed it was dazzling me therefore I couldnt see into the side street.

I dont think it needs to be this bright in the dark.

Yes its a pain in the ar5e... but something you'll have to get used to sadly since they dropped the side repeater from the wings (like the E9x).

I found it useful once.. I have noticed that the indicator auto cancel is not so exact as it was on the E92 and occiaisionally I have had to cancel the indicators manually after a slight turn (eg changing lanes) and at least one time I looked in the side mirror and thought "Oh I haven't cancelled my indicator!"

Interesting. I cant say I've noticed any difference in the way the indicators function vs my E90s.

Hmm mine definitely doesn't cancel as quickly. There are some turns on my commute that the E92 always self cancelled on but the F30 never does.

I think this is just the way it will be on new cars now, my wifes new VW Polo is exactly the same, found it annoying initially, seems to be a bit bright, maybe it's for all those people who forget to cancel their indicator lights!

Good for bikes too - closer to eye level.

I noticed it on my wife's F20 but got used to it long before I got my F30.

I totally agree that its a PITA having the repeater in visible on the mirror. Its got so annoying that I've started to clean the side windows before setting off!

A slither of black insulation tape over the offending part will sort that

Funnily enough, SWMBO really finds these mirror-mounted repeaters irritating (they irk her, as she puts it), and I was thinking about using some insulation/duct tape to hide them from driver/passenger view

Have you tried blinkers on her?
