How far in advance of production is pricing released?

How far in advance of production does BMW historically release the prices and specs and actually starts the orders? I understand that many of us (including the dealers) have already "pre-ordered" our cars, but when will we actually get to select the real options and will have the order numbers on hand? Let's say that the production starts in mid-May - will we get the final say-so also in May, or a couple of months before that time?

Anyone with recent historical perspective?

You should have them by now, here in england the dealers do with all the pricing and options, nice surprise in the standard options for us too, we get the optional suspension here as standard

I want to be able to play with all of the options and not just with colors and trims.

3-6 months before a model releases is when bmw usually sends dealers info regarding the models.

My thoughts would be sometime during Detroit or shortly after maybe. You never know it changes all the time

Prices are with the dealers at the moment, i got them when i placed my order.

I think this is only with the UK and Europe? The US is still waiting for any pricing info. On a separate note, the UK has some of the best beer in the world! Man, the UK is great all around and when I was in med school I had some UK med students stay with me while they were doing a research project on GSW's (gun shot wounds). Great guys, they were the mutt's nuts!

I'll have to disagree on the beer comment. The best beer can be found in Belgium, those guys are beer masters. Not only that, there is no other country even close in terms of taste and quality to Belgium.

Very good point. Belgium beer is great! We are getting closer and closer to our cars. I agree with you also (another post) on the SO interior. By not going full leather you still get a nice contrast with the black interior parts. Always good to read your comments, I just finished LMAO with the Nostradamus comment.

Well, I think we need a bit of humor here and there, some people just take this thing a little too serious. I can't wait until the 13th, good thing I have lots of work to keep me busy in the mean time.
