Get what you like the look of!
For me the black makes the interior very dark and gloomy, and the beige will be a nightmare to keep looking clean, especially with the beige carpet! I would have loved tan leather but coral red is my second favourite! But, each to their own! |

As said above, buy the colour YOU want and stop worrying about the person who will buy your second hand car in 3 or 4 years. People buying secondhand will accept they have to make compromises and if that means a dull black leather interior so be it. lol
Only joking guys, our current X3 is black Dakota leather which is why I am going for Coral Red as a change. I would be more concerned for the guys with luminous green RS Focus' (Focii?) whose cars will date like Joan Collins shoulder pads IMO. But again you have to buy what you like now and stop worrying about the future resale. |

Great car and sold it no problem. I think their residual values will hold far stronger than most BMW's. Good ones are still commanding £22k - £24k at 3 years old. Doubt many other cars of that type will only lose a few grand from list over 3 years! |

any colour except dog knob red
people ask for advice on colours, I think they ask as they aren't sure and are looking for opinions - thats what forums are for. do 85% of buyers avoid dog knob red? yes! worth knowing before buying i don't normally post negatives, just keep quiet, but all this 'superman' taste bypass syndrome has brought out the grumpy old man in me |

DKR owners on the MLR forum get very touchy when someone slags off their Evo
Forums are there for discussions, advice, conflicting views and debate. I do wish every thread wouldn't descent into an sdrive vs xdrive or Coral vs Black debate though! |

The best, IMHO because yes I have it, is opal white with piano black inlays. The nicest looking interior I've ever had but it does require a little bit more maintenance.

I've gone for Dakota black as you can't rally go wrong... might not be everyone's favourite, but nobody minds it! Looks great with EBII, and is straightforward to keep looking good. This is an everyday estate car for us, so that's the most important thing.
Our last 3 series has the Oyster leather, which looked great, but had lots of issues with dye transfer and generally looking grubby. I think the red looks ok with Silver or Grey, but with a black car it looks like a 70's whorehouse, and on a white car it looks like a chick just had her period or else someone shot Marvin in the face. Red with EBII looks a lot better than I had imagined... if it's good enough for the Union Jack then good enough for anyone else! If practicality and cost wasn't a consideration then I'd go with the pale options on a nappa leather like Cashmere or Ivory white.. |

Sdrive versus xdrive? Has this been discussed before? Don't think there's any debate there, sdrive is clearly better

Once you've had black, you don't go back. But enough of my personal life....
I do like the tan colour you get in ferraris, never quite the same when I see bmw versions.. |

I simply abhore black leather seats and brown even more. When they start to shine, which they inevitably do, the inside of the car looks like a well frequented whore house (no I've not experienced this, but imagine it) of the lowest quality.
