335d Stock Car

I was in Barrons Farnborough today, and noticed they had a stock 335d M Sport in Silver.... If anyone is looking for one!

From what I understand, you should be able to get a better deal on a stock car.

Signing up for that car before the end of Dec I would imagine should get a decent discount.

Unless someone was in a big rush to collect, the discount would need to be around 25% off list OTR price to be worth it, IMO.

You can always get a good deal on a stock car, issue is if this car is in basic spec ie no sat Nav that will hurt at trading time in the future.

I mistook 'stock' for 'standard' i.e. without any options.

More options = less % discount, unfortunately.

If ordered new this car should be discounted by up to 20% so it needs to be less than £40k for a £50k list price car that isn't quite 'brand spanking new'.

Why is it not brand spanking new, my reading is that this is a car they have in stock ready for a customer, could have been planned for a demo or a cancelled order.

It's brand new.

Would imagine as its a stock car the discount will be even higher....

Seems a good spec and saves the wait for someone if they're happy with its options.

Looks nice and the wheel gap looks slightly more acceptable in black and on the saloon v other colours or the 4 series

Offers won't be any better for a stock car than you can get on here for a factory order. Fact is that getting 20% off is practically all there is. Dealer does not own the stock car and has the same margin as any other car. He won't be prepared to lose money selling it.
A few months back when you could only get £6000 off then its fair to say that a stock car with £9000 off would back this up. Now of course everyone can get £9000 off.

With £9k off a new £50k 335d ordered to one's exact spec, how does a dealer expect to sell a pre-registered car for £2k more? To those who aren't in the know or need an immediate drive?

Not everyone knows about the discount levels, and some dealers would laugh you right out of the showroom if you mentioned 20%. Not every BMW dealer is desperate to move metal.

There are still a lot of people who assume ex demo or lightly used is a way of saving cash. It still can be on occasions but with the big discounts and low finance rates any knowledgeable customer will go new.

What happens in 3 or 4 years when there is a glut of used cars and perhaps not many buyers remains to be seen but clearly BMW are living for today and not worrying about tomorrow yet.
