Also picked up the new car...
The day has finally arrived and the new car is finally with me. Wow, what a beautiful car.
I had the dealer install my Winter Wheels and Tyres (run flats) before I picked it up and I love the look of the 415 alloys. I thought they would look rubbish but they don't. Really surprised by how comfortable the car is. Even on 18" run flats it is far more comfortable than my e92 was on 16" normal tyres. Such a smooth and comfortable ride. Managed to take one photo when I got back but I was quickly losing the light so it isn't the best: Got to say I was massively impressed with the dealer. They accidentally over charged me on the last finance agreement which they rectified right away. Spent an hour going through the car with me then gave me a box of wine and chocolates. When they collected my winter wheels the driver accidentally let one fall over and it has ever so small marks around one edge which I hadn't noticed. They spotted it during handover and when I explained what has happened, they apologised and said they will replace the wheel even though I didn't buy them from the dealer. Great experience. |

Just out of interest, when did your car show as 'built' on the VIN checker..? I get the feeling that there's a bit of a push going on at the mo' to get cars delivered to their new owners... |

Thanks.. I had a feeling that steddyman's car was built much more recently.. Like about 4th or 5th of December.. I think he posted that in another thread but I can't quickly find it (you know how these threads run..)..

Thanks mate. They are Pirelli Sottozero's. I bought them from eBay with 7mm of tread on them for £350.

The photo doesn't show them in the best light. They look a little like trims in that photo, but in real live they look amazing.
Thanks for the kind comments everyone. I just got the Y cable and adapter for the iPhone and went outside to test the HK audio. For some reason I decided I could really only judge the sound quality at speed. Any excuse |

Was also interested to learn that BMW no longer give you a tax disk with a new car. It is taxed but I was told the DVLA will send me the disk in the next 14 days.
I also didn't have to provide the Insurance documents. They said that requirement was removed this week. Probably related to the above. |
